How do you get the chevy bowtie grill emblem out without removing the whole grill?
Want to paint it off of the body.
Any tricks?
Thanks,

Unfortunately I have to repair before I repaint. I may be forced to pull the grill.............

Yea Tony.... I've heard a few guys say they can snake their hand in there to get to the hold down nuts, but I found it was easier to just remove the few bolts that hold the grill on. Not to mention not rippin' up the skin on my arms, and having to feel my way around blindly to do the job.
I think I did the replacement in like 1/2 an hour.

Is it just the obvious screws and bolts that hold the grill in place or are there any hidden fasteners behind the lights, side markers and turn signals?
Thanks,

I've done it both ways

Pulled the assembly off completely and sneaked my hand in and removed the bow tie. I'll just pull the assembly. Much easier, and does not take THAT much longer.

The grill should come off in 5 minutes. I'd just take it off rather than tear up your arm trying to snake in behind it if you can even get your arm behind the grill

I found the grill removal procedure on youtube.
Easy to do; 10 fasteners to remove once you know that two of them are behind the parking lights.
Grill out and new emblem going in.
