Brake Light Issue

I've searched through the past threads and wanted to verify my 'brake light issue'.

Rear Driving Lights (L/R); Rear Blinkers (L/R); and Third Brake Lights all work. Yet, my Rear Brake Lights (L/R) do not work.

I checked the fuses (driver side dash and under the hood) and all fuses are good.

I can't seem to pin point the problem. I've read the brake switch (behind the brake pedal) may be an issue, yet if that is the case ... then my Third Brake Light should not work?

Did you check ALL the fuses? Every single one? I would check them all if you haven't done so yet! Also, check the bulbs, my brother in laws truck a while back somehow burnt out both bulbs at the same time, sometimes the simple things are the last things we check sometimes!

I agree check ALL the fuses. I made the mistake of replacing my brake switch. The problem was a damn 30cents or so fuse..lol. Check your manual and see what fuse is for the entire brake system. The fuse that was burnt was under the hood where the spare fuses were located (top right corner).

Thanks for all your responses. I realized that the bulbs were bad! Yet, I didn't realize that even if the rear driving lights are visible, the rear brake lamps will go out. My third brake light has no issues nor the fuses. Just a bad bulb! (still learning ... new owner of an 06 denali yukon). Thanks again!
