Having some issues with my brake lights as well on my 96 tahoe RWD. Third brake light at the top is working when pressing on pedal. The reverse lights and running lights work but both brake lights at the bottom are not lighting up. I am trying to see if there is a fuse or wire that i am overlooking?I pulled the lights off today and all the connectors look good and nothing is spliced. The third light seems to be an after marked LED. Im assuming the brake switch works since the 3rd light turns on.

so far yes, chmsl is actually a oem led assembly. you want leds for the tail/turn you will need aftermarket for those(worth it). use the following diagrams to grace your output failure. when either tail light is active its power comes from point a or b as shown on page 5 from the steering column mounted switch assembly diagram continues for the tails on page 6.

ok i feel like a moron a bit. I know i need to replace the turn signal switch, the hazard button is broken off. I just bought the car so im finding randomness as i go along. But i located the fuse box under the hood and noticed that the brake light relay is missing? Is there supposed to be a fuse there? I know some cars can function without fuses. I attached a few pics. Let me know im not crazy lol

Ok so update on the lights. All 3 lights are now not lighting up. I am getting power to the rear lights since the running lights and reverse lights work I'm assuming? I just swapped out the brake light switch and nothing changed. My multi function switch is definitely acting sketchy. The hazard button is broken and the turn signal lights flicker randomly. I was reading that the multi switch will cause brake lights to not work if the switch is bad? How true is this? I have one coming in the mail as we speak

correct. the hazard switch switches many circuits at once to disengage/engage the required functional output of brake/turn/hazard needs.

lol i put the brake light switch in, nothing changed but i finally got the new multi switch in the mail. I compared it to the old one and noticed some of the copper elements are as exposed on the new one as the old one. Does this look normal? l see the pics below, the one on the left is new one.
