So the drivers side brake light is out on my 15 Yukon. How are y’all taking care of this without buying a whole new assembly for $400-$700?
Can you replace the bulb sockets?

I am not cracking and soldering like one guy did on YouTube.

plz help.

Think I found someone to fix it locally.

This model Yukon is a ************* by the way. so many problems. I drove a 2006 Z71 Tahoe till it had 175k miles on it and not one issue. This thing sucks ass. Cannot believe yall drive these things. If I paid full price for this thing to fall apart at 70k I would be driving it up someones ass at the dealership. Seriously considering trading it in a for a big Lexus. rant over, maybe.

I see one complaint about a brake light and then all of a sudden, you hate the rig. Did you buy used or new? Sounds like you bought new at a reduced price?

If I was you, before your oncoming heart attack gets here, buy a Lexus.

This happened to my ‘15 Yukon XL Denali. It’s a known issue with the K2XX Yukon tail lights; There’s even an extended warranty program from GMC dealers up to a certain age/mileage. I was beyond that.

For both of my tail lights I had a smooth experience finding a vendor on eBay that sold repaired tail lights that they had cracked open and soldered and performed the repair/fix. I purchased from vendor through eBay, they sent me the repaired OEM tail light, received, simple remove and reinstalled tail light on my own, sent vendor back my broken failed tail light, received my return core charge.

Much cheaper route and OEM repaired tail light. Their repair/fix method is better than the problematic OEM defective design.

This is the vendor I used:

Thanks, for the info. I found a local guy that will do it for $80.

So yes, this has just been the straw that broke the back for me. AC went out and needs repair, leaking coolant hose, having to put in an AFM delete so the engine doesn't shit itself. And now this brake light. Oh and a golf ball went through the sun roof as my wife was driving past a golf course--crazy. I bought it used with 68k miles which USED TO BE the sweet spot (price, longevity, kinks out) for GM trucks. I like it besides all the crazy sht thats gone on.

Did you get any repair or maintenance records when you bought it? Just depend on CarFax?

They gave me all the repair and maintenance records. And did a full check up on it before they put it up for sale. It was from a reputable dealer in Atlanta so I didnt have much suspicion. Carfax were fine.

Yeah the 1st year model change always has issues - this one seems especially prone. Your 06 was the last year of a gen, and you can attest everything was sorted out. 3rd year is where they seemed to have if figured out (17 for K2)...

My daughter's 2017 Yukon had a taillight go out. We replaced it with a used one and now 21 days later it's gone out. I noticed the GMC special warranty is only for 2015 - 2016. Is this still an issue for 2017's and should we buy a rebuilt one?
