Good to know. Actually Great to know. Ordered the tool (which I’ll likely never use again) and started last night. One rotor and hat done last night. Might as well finish the other one today. It’s fun to tinker.

Definitely can’t do it without the tool. I messed up a couple of times. It’s not perfect but should do. Glad to know it’s not do or die if they’re not perfect .

Anyone with the Willwoods want to give a report on braking performance? I am already finding myself wanting a little better braking than stock. Does anyone think it's worth the $4k? Would you do it again?

I don't think you could stop one of these rigs any faster. The 16" /14" rotor combo is huge especially the fronts with the ginormous 6 piston calipers. Whether they're worth $4k is subjective I suppose but if I could afford to I'd put them on without question especially if I was hauling a family around or towing. There are more expensive options out there as in Brembo. I would do it again.

The minimum wheel size is 20" but you need to look at the diagrams and measure. I know it depends on the design of the wheels as to whether the caliper clears. Sometimes it's not the diameter that's the problem but the spokes. My 26" Dubs are closer to interfering than are my 22" reps. Wilwood's website has diagrams with dimensions you can check.

I agree with everything Rocket Man said in regards to braking performance. The only thing I can add, which is subjective, is the braking “feels” more mechanical. Not as soft and cushy like stock, but more like you can feel the pads making contact with the rotor under your foot.

I just installed the big Wilwood kit with 6 and 4 piston calipers, runs like 4K with lines

Hi also looking to improve braking. Will be looking into the Wilwood and Brembos. Surprised they were that much for some reason. Looking for new wheels as well. Have to figure out what works with the bigger brakes.
