I recently replaced the front brakes (rotars/pads) and the rear brakes (drums/shoes/wheel cylinders/spring kit) and bled the system. The reason for the brake job was my pedal was mushy and nearly going to the floor. The pedal contines to act the same and I have bled the system several more times. I have read that this is just the way the tahoe's are. I don't/can't believe this as I previously owned a 1999 Suburban that never had a braking problem. Any help to stiffen up the pedal and brake response is greatly appreciated. Thanks :emotions122:

Man I hope I don't run into the same problems. My pedal is going all the way down too and I'm crossing my fingers every time I have to stop. Brake job is on the deck this weekend.

Did you actually adjust the rear shoes after the brake job?

Same here I push my brakes all he way down to slow down and stop:( I'm to take it but I was told that it has a leak or that it's the master cylinder or I think the slave something. Srry but I can remember what it's called. I got to take it next week but I'll post up what happens so hang in there and pump The brakes if u must

they are known for weak brakes but you shouldn't have the pedal on the floor. may have a leak in the master cylinder.

:welcome: the pedals do go down pretty far. After ensuring you drum system is adjusted properly ensure your flexible brake lines show no signs of swelling or cracking and look for any leakage at the back of master cylinder.

Yes I did adjust the rear shoes. I ran the adjuster as far as I could go then slid the drum on. There is not a "knock out" on the back of the backing plate nor the front of the drum like with older models.

Like stated, check the master, you're lines and hose's and make sure you don't have a leak somewhere.

There are knockout but they have completely punched out. You have to finish the job. and put plugs in afterwards. It sucks I know but they are there.
