This sucks to here but most times then not problems arise right when the car is new. Hence the warranty. Your more likely to have issues in the beginning then the end with typical manufacturing these days.

Proud/Frustrated owner of brand new 2025 Yukon XL Denali with reserve package and air ride (not the capability package with the elocker, just air ride).

Anyways, bought the car on February 28th, picked up the next day on March 1st after detailing. On the ride home, I noticed that the forward "collision warning system unavailable" message was showing up, along with the warning light. Also intermittently it wouldn't flash that the "Rear Pedestrian Warning" was unavailable. The car lane assist wouldn't activate, nor would adaptive cruise, or supercruise. Also I noticed that speed limit signal were not showing up on the HUD. Drove the car for 6 days and brought it in last Thursday for the service appointment and to pick up the GMC all weather mats for all 3 rows.

3 days (business days), 5 calendar days later, and per checking in with them today, they still don't have a clue what is wrong. So frustrating to save for a 100k vehicle only to have it poop the bed on the drive out of the dealership. Not mad at the dealer, they gave me a rental car to use, but frustrated as hell at GM. Sorry to vent, but hoping/not hoping someone else has had this happen and they might have a solution!

Absolutely loved the car and the refreshed interior for the few days I got to drive it!
As my dealer told me once. The biggest problem with these units is they are about 7-10 computers bouncing down the street. Also constantly contending with different voltages.
(Hammer or a Blow Torch fixes everything)
Take care they will fixing.

The more I read and learn about the issues with the 2021+ Generations, the less and less I want one. It is absolutely ridiculous that these vehicles are made with such horrible QC.

I am not sure QC is the issue. As mentioned, too many computers in any car build from mid 2000's. Battery and charging Voltage is a key not make sure everything plays nice. Unfortunately these newer cars really need more maintenace than the prior port fuel injected vehicles without all the extra fuel saving features.

Just go back 50+ years to 3000-4000 mile oil changes with synthetic oil, check the oil every 2nd oil fill up and run a quality Premium fuel. Then plan on battery replacements at least every 4th year. Life should be pretty good.

Not exactly true.

The Data comes from the Offline Maps data that is downloaded to the infotainment screen. Normal google maps apps (be they iOS, Android, or even PC/Mac/Chromebook) allow you to download maps for offline use, and they have a 12 month expiration. The GM system seems to be set to about a week, then your offline map expires.

So, you don't get maps data or speed limit data off the head unit if you don't have an active data connection to run your system and constantly update offline maps.

You may be able to make a hotspot out of your phone, and connect the head unit to it...but it is not "sticky" meaning you have ot start this connection on every startup...Yes, it is a money grab by OnStar/GM/ATT...the up side is you always have fresh map data.

I’m not disputing your explanation. I’m looking for information.
Why does the maps work without the data connection after a week? And while I have the unlimited monthly OnStar plan, my maps ran but the speed limit sign wasn’t. I had to turn truck off and reboot system to restore speed sign .

The "Offline Maps" will tide you over w/ maps data for a while, but eventually they will expire...I thought it was a few days...may be a tad longer, but eventually, w/ no data connection..you will have no maps.

The speed limit thing is quirky...but one thing I do know about it is that while offline maps are being downloaded it displays "--" and then once the offline map update is complete, it comes back. And, yes, sometimes it does display "--" for no apparent reason...whole system has several bugs. In my 3 years of ownership, I have learned to live with some, been annoyed by others, and realized, finally, like every piece of software these days "thats how it is." Do I like it, no!
