Some of the cheap replacements have a plastic base (the triangle that bolts into the door frame) and I wanted no part of that.

I found power heated mirrors with an aluminum base for $53.00 at 1Aauto.com

97 Yukon here.

I picked up a pair aluminum bodied ones 18 months ago, aftermarket, and they're already corroding through the paint that came on them already. They were already a nicely painted gloss black and didn't feel they had to be painted again. So, I just installed them.

I'm in Cleveland, lotsa salt on roads. But these look worse in 18 months than the originals did in 10 yrs...

Thinking OEM is astronomically priced, but I wonder if they'd do better.

OEM heated power mirrors from Chevy, my dealer quoted me over $400.00 each. I will gladly repaint my aftermarket $53 mirror body if it corrodes in a year or so

Yeah, it's too damaged to paint now, short of grinding it off and filling, I'll prolly just replace it again, I was astounded when i noticed it. Lotta salt here tho.

I'd say paint them really well prior to installing. Maybe I just got a bad brand, I paid about 50 bucks for them from a local body shop supply. and these are heated, just not hooked up in my 97, yet...

OEM heated, as I said, was astounding.
