So...looked behind tires today (just got new ones and trying to assess rubbing, that's another story) and see the below. Yes, both sway bar links are completely busted/unattached .1) how worried about this should I be? 2) how pissed should I be at the guys who did my inspection two months ago

What kind of inspection? Mandatory, or the one zillion point courtesy inspection? ;)
Both! In theory. I'm assuming that they both wouldn't just have snapped off within the last two months. I haven't felt huge diff in ride quality at any point since buying it ~9k miles ago (about 60k now), guess I don't know what I'm missing. Plus had all inspections, etc. at that time

So it's registered in a State that has mandatory safety inspections?

just replace them and carry on, for whatever reason it's fairly common on the gmt900's
if one broke then the other would have been right behind it. kind of like wheel hubs
autozone has the duralast ones with lifetime warranty, will be around $50 or so for the set

the bushings are gone..
had mine do the samething and just went and got replacement poly urethane bushings.
spent more time chasing the bushings as they rolled around under the truck..autozone for less than $12..
