Who is building upgraded 8l90’s?

My 2015 6.2l is at 27k and good luck getting a “power train warranty”

heck I can’t even get the oil swap because the techs say they can’t replicate and then on the side say they only get paid 1.4 hrs and it takes them 2+ to do everything and it’s not worth it.

so I don’t want to go through this every 25k miles. Looking for a strong stock rpm torque converter and stronger built trans.

I know the camaro and corvette guys use better clutches and some other upgrades parts but I haven’t put a lot of research into that side. They are fine with hard shifts that jolt, but my wife drives this as much as I do.. with kids and that would suck.

1st off it sounds like you may need to find a new dealership to service your truck.

There are other GM performance cars that were using 8l90’s before the 10l90 came out it went into Camaro’s, Corvettes, and the ‘16-‘19 CTS-V.

The biggest difference will be the weight of our vehicles.

I know Century and Circle D offer built 8l90’s. There’s also a shop in Ohio worth looking into called TK Performance. TK Performance has an 8l90 living in a ‘16 CTS-V running 9’s. They will be who I use if my transmission dies outside of my power train warranty.

Yea. The nearest ok dealer is about 2 hours away. And yea.

inhave a really good friend who worked at ford for 19 years and Gm/chevy for 5.

the attitude is: if you can’t beat book by 50% you are loosing money. If something takes book or over you “can not replicate”.

and then toward the end of his working at dealers and switching to a county job at their corps yard, they were hiring guys straight out of schools paying them nothing and as soon as they warranted a raise, fired them and hired the next round.

it was only transmission guys oddly enough who kept their jobs because new tranny guys weren’t coming out of the schools very often.

it’s a crappy deal here, and it’s not brand specific.

TK performance is great. I just got my 6l80 back from them with a level 3 build. Quick turn around and great people. Tim has or did have the record for fastest C7 in the world. They know what they are doing.
