I had to have a metal fragment plucked from my eye years ago. It's hell from the time it happens until they numb it. The whole time you're at home and everyone's trying to get it, the drive to the eye doc, waiting to see the doc... it's pure agony the whole time. He basically pinched it with tweezers and pulled. You feel your eyeball being pulled like it's stretching out of shape. Then, when the metal shard breaks free, your eye snaps back to shape.

I'm writing the gruesome details in hopes it'll really drive home how important eye protection (and all PPE) is. You only have two eyes and they can be taken from you very easily and permanently.

Been there had to have 3 metal slivers pulled out that you could feel dragging on the eyelids when you blinked. They also started to rust in the punctures by the time I was able to get the doctor to remove them. Sucked. Luckily they were in the white part.

It’s interesting but if you ever need an MRI and worked with metal they want to know. I guess the magnet can pull metal out of you and the eye is one place it can do some real damage.
That would suck if it started pulling a metal sliver out of your eye. I worked with glass for a good part of my life, cutting and fabricating it, and have had glass slivers. There’s nothing you can do if it gets below the skin surface because if you try to get ahold of it with tweezers it just breaks into smaller pieces. The weird thing is they tend to only move in one direction- they don’t back out but instead keep moving forward until they come out the other side. I’ve had one go all the way through my forearm. It took weeks and one day I felt my shirt catch on something as I was putting it on so I looked closely and the glass was sticking out 1/4” so I just grabbed it with my fingers and pulled it out. They don’t tend to cause any infection so they dont really even hurt after the initial puncture.

Joseph bought himself a little trailer for his lawn and snow business tonight. We just got back from picking it up in Dodgeville, WI. Found it on Craigslist for $600 and it’s 6’ x 8’ and came with ramps and a spare tire. Guy had just painted everything, replaced all the wood, lights and wheels.

Hell yeah!

Dude's gonna need to hire laborers, a dispatcher, receptionist, accountant, and an outside sales rep before he's even old enough to work for a company.
Ha! Pretty much.

He has a dispatcher in the form of his mom who takes snow removal and lawn care gigs via Facebook.

He has a driver in the form of his 17yr old brother who gets a minimum of $5 for each property he drives Joseph to and an additional amount of the take if he actually gets out of the truck and helps.

He has his dad as a consultant and lead mechanic.

I guess he does have a pretty good staff set up.

I was gonna say in a family that size there might be candidates.
