Well, I've had enough! My 2015i yukon denali has been in the shop too many times I lost count. Started off with transmission issues. Eventually had it replaced. I emailed Mary Barra (GM CEO) and received a call back from her assistant. They are looking into it. I spoke to a lemon-law attorney and he seems to think I have a strong case, but I'd prefer to just work with GM directly. Has anyone had experience with a buyback?

Dealing with this now. I have done the same thing. Ended up getting trade assist for 10% of the sticker price as credit. FYI, MOST DEALERS WILL NOT TAKE IT. Push for a buyback. They will make you do a full dog and pony and then you will get screwed. The problem with going lemon law is the moment that the paperwork is filed the value of the vehicle tanks because its listed as a lemon. Just be careful and remember that GM is NOT YOUR FRIEND. They in general don't care.

Who are you dealing with? The service shop? Sales dept? GM directly? I received a call from the GM exec office yesterday and they said my case was forwarded along to their legal dept and they couldn't talk to me anymore. What a joke.

I was dealing with the Executive office. I assume after you told them that you had spoken to a lawyer, its hands off. yes, its a joke.

Best option is to figure out what you are willing to walkaway from. the process wears you down so much so that I just decided to demand specific figures that I knew I was willing to take and the dealer agreed

I just want them to take it back, give me my deposit. Void the lease and I'll use that same deposit to lease another one.

I've been down the lemon law road and it is a pain. I went to arbitration with GM over a Z06 with a grinding transmission. I didn't use a lawyer just the BBB. Check your states lemon law. Each state is different with different time and mileage requirements. One other thing to check, a Lemon Law is state specific. For instance in Indiana, you must purchase the vehicle, title the vehicle and live in the state to be covered by the Lemon Law. I found this out the hard way with a CTS-V, purchased it in Kentucky so had to do the Magnuson and Moss act route. Make sure you follow the rules outlined in the owners manual with notification to GM, make sure it is a certified copy with receipt requested. I had that little game played trying to not cover the full cost of the buy back. Take good notes with the dealership, how many days out of service, who you talked to on what date and what was said.
It is a pain but in the end you can win, make sure the SAFETY factor is stressed. " I travel on a heavily used road with many 18 wheelers and if the transmission were to fail again, I would be concerned with mine and my family's safety."
Good luck.
