im planning to buy a 2001 denali it has about 100k on it and for 9000. the car is very clean and i think its a good deal its about same as the blue book value. but my question is hows the reliability on the motor since 100k is alot? this will be my first suv and just curious to see other peoples opinions that already has one since this is the tahoe/yukon forum. i drove it and the car runs good and smooth just needs to change the brakes soon because i have to put a little pressure to stop. it dont stop on the dime. is there anything i should look for to test on the car to see if its a good buy or not? 9k is alot of money and i dont want to buy it and bring it home and something goes wrong. i know theres alot of stories saying alot of tahoes/yukons going wrong when it hit high miles and thats why im on here asking questions before i buy. any sugguestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Welcome aboard! The motor should be good to go! Mine passed 100 a while back and is still going strong. Do you notice any play in the tranny when your driving and it shifts? Have a good mechanic check it out for you before you buy it as well. Good luck!

the car runs like new its smooth and when started it up there was no hesitation to start. the man bought it brand new so its a 1 owner car and he said he never took it in because it never had problems so he had warranty for nothing but thats just his words. but by looking at it it looks like its been well taken care of. just want some feed backs about the reliability since itss already reached 100k.. thanks

100K is nothing, there are a few members pushing 250- 300K and still going strong.

id check all fluids before buying maybe if you think something might be wrong with it ask him if you may take it to a shop to have it looked at? i agree with other memebers on here there good SUV's things go wrong when peeps dont take of there $hit! check it out if you feel its a good running truck then go for it.

100k isn't bad but I would definately have it checked out and I'm sure Max will pop in here with some good 01 denali advise

agreed, now days 100K isn't much, plus, low mileage longblocks are plentiful.
