Forgive me if there is a similar post out there, but I looked and couldn't find one so here goes. I am looking at buying a 94 Yukon GT for a significantly low price. The owner states it was running fine before and after coming off a freeway exit ramp the truck refused to propel itself as if it was in neutral. He DID NOT hear any knocking, grinding, noise at all. He also can't seem to decide what he "thinks" the problem is. I know I am looking at a project for sure, and my daily driver is an ex police tahoe so I am familiar with the trucks, is there anything special I should look for that is particular to the 2 door Yukon GTs? Where would you all start with troubleshooting the drivetrain issues? (other than checking fluids) Near as I know it has a 4L60E trans and an NP241 t-case. I'll find out for sure this evening. Below is a link to the post for the truck. Any and all opinions welcome.

jack truck up, see if the wheels spin to make sure rearend isn't blown. But, in hopes it is as its cheaper than a tranny. But if it is a tranny, those are plentiful, and fairly easy to replace.

Scratch that idea. Got there to look at the truck and not only is the trans completely screwed, but the wiring under the dash is all torn up, drivers door is rusting out, Rear hatch didn't latch, neither of the two radios installed worked, and there where random wires all over the engine compartment. Appreciate the help but I believe I will continue my search for a 2 dr.

He probably blew the rear planetary ... common issue in the 4L60s.
