I was told that if you buy a vehicle with a salvage title....only pay 25%-30% of the book value and don't plan on reselling it.

Why are you so set on buying a salvage? There are more than enough Tahoes on the market with clean titles.

I personally would not purchase a salvage title due to the $$ and headaches of trying to get it cleared. While, I do agree that the price(s) are very attractive, like the others have said, there are plenty of other trucks out there with low mileage and clear titles for just a bit more.

If you are getting it for a custom project, why not consider a high mileage truck with a clear title?

Good luck with whatever you decide

I know a guy who bought a salavge title car and tried to get it registered. It so hard to get it registered because there are so many requirements before it can get cleared and road worthy. Most of the time they want information that you cannot supply. He still didnt get it registered and ended up buying a legit car and using that one for parts.

I'm also planning to buy a salvage title car here, and I've read a lot information and can say that I won't buy a car if doesn't save me at least 70% of the car's value, and probably won't buy a flooded car, fresh water flooding is not too bad but salt water flood is worse.

While your statement is very true either flood damaged vehicle is a nightmare . I actually ran into the guy I was talking about in my previous post and asked him about it his words last night

" imagine taking a computer and submersing it in water for 2 days , then fix it , if you can do that you still can't fix a flooded vehicle "

without starting over of course

On older rides its easy to fix flooded rides. Like a honda swap ecu change couple sensors n your good but I would never buy a newer car that's been flooded too muh going on with electronics meaning a very very very large headache and alot of loot in electronics
