My 2007 Escalade has 99k on it and the transfer case is starting to slip at WOT. I first thought it was the infamous drivers motor mount, replaced that and no change. I've been looking for a rebuild kit but they only include bearings, bushings and seals.. Is that all I need? I'm thinking the chain and sprockets need to be replaced?

I haven't rebuilt a transfer case yet but studied it on my last generation Escalade. I don't think you need a chain/sprockets unless you suspect chain stretch.

From what I understand though there is a viscous coupler in these transfer cases. I would think that is the part you'd want to replace.

I don't know what a transfer case slipping feels like. Is it a jerking/surging feel? How do you determine that it is slipping? When I was studying it on my 05 it was a surging feeling I had at constant throttle. It turned out to be the converter clutch in the trans. A treatment with DR Trans cleared it right up so I never went into the transfer case as it didn't have a problem.
