C1100 + C0253 EBCM Codes! HELP

Hi
My cruise control function isn't working, did an OBD scan but these codes were the only codes to show up. I have no Idea where to start, took it to my local mechanic but he said this could be a wiring issue and he had to pullout the whole harness to check, could take him up to 3 days and 500-600$ of labor. Can someone suggest anything before starting to dig in my harness

Any time you have a brake or ABS code cruise control won’t work. An easy thing to check is your ground cables and wires under the steering wheel. It would be odd for an ABS code and steering code to happen at the same time but you never know.

Could be the ol brake lamp switch in the pedal dilemma. Are brake lamps coming on?

A bad switch will kill cruise control as well as not allow the truck to shift out of park depending on the truck.

It’d also be worth it to disconnect the battery for 5 min to see if it clears itself.

Weird stuff like this happens when the battery and / or cables are on the fritz. Charge the disconnected battery overnight and load test it when disconnected at the parts house. You may be able to put your diagnostic $ time into a new battery instead.

In addition to the above suggestions, get under it and inspect the condition of the EBCM. If it's corroded and bloated you probably have your answer.
