Looks good dude simple green is the easiest way to clean the filter, I dial mine up every time I change the oil but 8000-10000 is acceptable. A tune would make even more power especially at partial throttle and lower rpm

simple green? whats the process? just let the simpe green soak in and then wash with water?

You gotta be careful if your be using a water hose on your engine cuz water will find way to the knock senors and trash them, and you'll pull your intake just change them out, some people have wash there engine with hose and had no problems, but not a chance I wanna take. I just sprayed Simple Green on let it sit and wiped and keep repeating the process till its done. Its just a little safer that way.

Sorry I guess I should been more clear, the Knock Senors are located under the Intake Manifold and water gets under there very easly, and could corrode and rust them! If that happens your in for some fun! Search for on here you'll see what I'm talking bout! IMHO its easier to control a spary bottle then a hose, better to take you a little longer to clean then cost you possibility money and time ripping all that apart and replacing it all! Hope this helps you a little more!

Does the brand of CAI really matter? My dad has a K&N and I have heard much hype regarding them. Air raid and AEM seem to be popular as well. Are any of them more desirable than another?

Thanks

I always go to the car wash where you get out and pressure wash it yourself...I pop the hood...switch the wall control to de-greaser, spray it all over in the engine bay...then switch it to the hot soap selection and spray it...then change it to water and pressure wash the shit out of EVERYTHING!!! lol...I know its dangerous...but its been fine the last 40 times I've done it :D

This is exactly what i do also to wash the engine compartment also done it about 10 times now, but now after reading this thread I'm a little skeptical about doing it that way now.. so engine as of right now filthy dirty :(

I haven't lost MPG, still rock solid at 16 MPG

I've had AEM and K&N Honestly didn't notice the difference there both reputable companies

Im talking about losing MPG because you'll enjoy the sound of a CAI system lol...I love to hear it suck in all that air when slamming on the throttle! hahaha ;) Thats the only reason why :)
