My question is:
Can a 2003 GM246 transfer case be disabled by dropping the case and removing the chain, putting it back together, and reinstalling it leaving me only 2wd, but without the grinding?
I know it may seem like a dumb idea to a lot of you, but I am mechanically inclined enough to do all this myself. I just don't have the cash to buy a remanufactured unit at this time.
I was thinking this would buy me sometime before it totally eats itself up and leaves me stranded.
I does have the pinhole leak at the pump area, FYI...
Thanks in advance.
