Hey all,

Got a CEL again, probably from the Volant. Anyway, it's on for its 3rd day (the CEL was going away on its own after a day previously). I need to clear to code, but I'm not sure how. Can I do it with my EFI Live? It's not obvious how to do it. I've located the code with it (P0442), but don't readily see how to clear it.

Thanks!

Do you have the AutoCal?

Edit: That code you are throwing is a typical gas cap code. You need to download the latest software version from our website, not from EFILive. Then update the AutoCal firmware. There will be an option to Clear DTCs.

Jenna -- I'm logged in on your site, and I'm not seeing anything about updating software on your site. I need a link, please -- or what links to follow to get to what you're talking about. I'm not seeing it. Thanks.

Ok, I figured out how to get to the updates (it's from within the desktop EFI software, not from your site, really). I told it to look for updates, and it says that there are no new updates.

I've got the AutoCal, with only the three buttons on the front.

How do I clear this code?

Did you log into the AutoCal instructions site? You have to log in with your customer info, and on that site, (in the first step) there is a link to the software download.

Hey Jenna -- I've got it figured out now. What I wasn't understanding was the fact that I needed to download the ENTIRE desktop software, which is new, over again. When I saw that step, I knew I had already downloaded that when I first got the AutoCal. So, I was thrown off by the idea that the new software wasn't merely an update to existing software, but an update to NEW software. I went through the steps and downloaded everything, then did the update from within the new software, and it's all good now. Thank you.

One thing I asked Justin in an email (that you may be able to help with): After downloaded this new software, can I REPLACE the previous (desktop) software with it? Or will that wipe out my saved tunes and whatnot?

Thanks!

This download will update your existing software- replacing only the portions that it needs to.

Thanks, Jenna. I had made a "Tuning" folder on my desktop where I put all of these tuning-related files, and when I went to drag the new software in there, it asked if I wanted to replace the existing software (by the same name) with the new. So, I got a little nervous there for a minute and just left it out of the folder.
