So there is a key slot under the button. But I wouldn't recommend tearing it down all the way to that point. Disassembly and reassembly of the cylinder is a pain as it is spring loaded but here it is a few pictures of it.

I put it all back together this just doesn't seem like the right way to leave it it's very exposed and unsightly. But it is there who woulda thought

Damn thieves punched my passenger lock and tried to steal my truck. I hate thieves with a passion. Sorry.

They tried to turn the ignition with vise-grips so when I tried it with the key it wouldn't turn. I was watching a movie in a theater and security caught them in the act but they got away in a car with no plates or temp. Anyway, since the ignition wouldn't turn the tow truck couldn't get it into neutral or turn the steering wheel and it's AWD. It took us about 4 hours to get it up on his flatbed and back off in my driveway using plastic skids and half a gallon of Dawn. The next day I figured out how to get the lock to turn which was good because it has to be in the run position in order to replace the cylinder. Not too much damage but a lot of hassle.

I have had to deal with my fair share of thieves back when I used to live in New Orleans. Car theft is HUGE in New Orleans as it is in most bigger cities. You should be thankful that this thief obviously wasn't a pro, or your truck would have been gone. With everything you have done to your Denali, I would think it would be a big target for crooks. I have no clue how big vehicle theft is up in the Pacific Northwest, but there's obviously enough that your truck was targeted. I would invest in more protection for your truck. A good two-way alarm system is a good start. If you want, you can go a step further and get a GPS vehicle tracking system. That way even if a professional crew with a tow truck ended up getting your truck, you would be able to use your tracking system to locate it.
I have not invested NEARLY as much money into my truck as you have, and I have a Viper 2-way on mine which so far has obviously scared off every thief that has peered into my window. But if I invested in a blower, DUBs, Wilwood brakes, and much more, I'd gladly invest in a vehicle tracking system.

I've been looking into it and will do something soon.
