After a seventh month wait for GM to pick up this from the dealer reluctantly pulled the order.
I know it's about the allocation to the dealer, but with the recent diesel prices getting five dollars a
gallon and then having to wait maybe another three to four more months even if I get a allocation
I decided to wait and see for 2023. I don't blame anybody for this is just the way the world spins
now.

On a brighter note, I did order a Ford Maverick XL Hybrid and got within five months. You could say this
is extreme opposites. I ordered the Maverick XL with no accessories at $21,500 MSRP and maybe that's
why I got it so soon because it had no accessories.
also if you guys are worried about future prices get silver Lots and lots of silver quarters

I bought 4,000 gallons of gasoline futures 5 months back

i have enough to buy 4,000+ gallons worth 1 silver quarter = 1 gallon of gas since 1964...

i can exchange it for $6.50 which is enough to buy 1.1 gallons of gas

regardless of the price it goes it will not even effect me 4,000 gallons is almost a lifetime supply of gasoline so even it if it goes to 20$ a gallon it would not even do anything to me as my investment would pay off

100% correct. Living here 20 years now, never a shortage of diesel before, during, or after the hurricane. Gas is a nightmare when the storm comes. Several years ago 2 of my neighbors evacuated after being pumped up by the news. Neither made it out of Florida on gas. The second there is a possibility of it coming, I go get gas for generator and wifes car. Diesel is easy.
Yep, Most people don't understand this unless they've lived it. Heck even a Tropical Storm Warning gets everyone in a tizzy down here at stations. Heard many stories with Irma of people running out of gas on 75 coming up out of SWFL and no fuel at stations along 75 till north of Gainesville and some times to the GA border. Thats why with a diesel I, 1st have 600 miles of range, 2nd I can get off and get fuel at 95% of places that are dry on gas, and 3rd I'm not nervous at I sit in gridlock and I'm down to below 1/4 tank.
My neighbor has a Tesla, and believe me that car stayed behind as many tried to get out early...

I would think in a long term event like a gas shortage or wwIII or global economy crisis (all of which seem to be in the works) the diesel passenger vehicle owners will end up with the most expensive fuel with the least amount of availability. There's not too many tractors or semis or construction vehicles or ships or trains that run on gas so in a major crisis the diesel fuel should naturally go to the most important consumers, not the guy in a fancy suv...I suppose we will find out soon enough

The 5.3 is the most popular engine in the GM suv because of economy therefore prices including the price of gas matter to most suv buyers. Are you still surprised?
B/c of fuel economy? Definitively? I’ve never seen such a claim. It’s a factor for sure, but if the 6.2 was no cost option I bet it would be chosen by most.

But if suv buyers don't care about the price of gas why should they worry about a small upcharge for the 6.2.

A lot of times it’s not a small upcharge if it requires a package or trim level upgrade to access the larger engine. I think you will find most people don’t care what engine they have if they are just looking for a large suv to haul family around. They are not car people. The ones that do care are upgrading bc they want it or don’t want the top dog trim and not have the best engine too. I just think fuel prices are probably not a big factor, for most, when buying a suburban AND selecting the engine. They are not nite and day difference.

Are you referring to literal silver coins? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm just curious.

I am from Las Vegas, and to say I am frustrated with the ordering process is an understatement.

I got in line with one dealer who has ten people ahead of me back in November of 2022.

The line has stayed the same since.

I went to the other dealers, and one of them lied and said they would have an allocation in Jan; they took a 1000 dollar deposit. January passed, and no order number went to the dealer and found out that there had been at least another lady ahead of me since June of 2022. I got my deposit back.

I started looking at other states and the majority of the dealers; even though it shows in transit, the vehicle is fulfilling someone's order and is not available.

A dealer in AZ is getting 7 of them, and they are all called for, and the guy told me he has a waiting list that will go through the rest of 2023, if not 2024.

I found 2 Tahoes in California, and they are marked up by 5 thousand.

What I am failing to understand is that evidently, there is a huge demand for this vehicle, which could be profitable both for the dealers and GM, yet it does seem like GM is not doing anything to meet the demand. Please let me know if anyone knows a dealer with an allocation.

Thank you

Searching Chevrolet dot com 3 weeks ago I found an in-transit High Country Suburban with Diesel and Air-Ride suspension, triple white and Moccha interior at a dealer 4 hours away, I called them, placed a deposit and was delivered to me 3 days ago. They gave me a very fair price on my Tahoe trade too.

Just saying, spending a little bit of time on the GM dot com sites every couple days might yield some fruit, this is my 2nd armchair purchase with home delivery and a short wait time.
