i have an 04 Tahoe 5.3, 150,000 miles with original exhaust. I'd like to put short headers on it but afraid of braking the exhaust manifold studs. I am in need of a cat back exhaust. Doing research I would have liked a Corsa Touring exhaust but they only make the Sport for this year/model. I'm not looking for the much 'attention". So, what are some good options that you guys like?
Thanks....

magnaflow? or a flowmaster are also a good option. Gibson makes a good system. Borla as well but im not sure on the sound, my impression is they are very mild in tone so either one of those might be what you're looking for.

It`s pretty well known around here that shorty headers don`t really give a significant increase in horsepower and torque. They`re great only in the fact that they will bolt up to the stock Y pipe.

Long tube headers are the way to go.

And if you`re thinking about buying a catback kit and installing it yourself make sure you ONLY buy a stainless steel system because seeing you`re from jersey a mild steel or aluminized system will last 2-3 years until it falls off. After mine rusted away i went with a custom bent stainless system. It was more money but worth every cent.

As far as the manifold bolts i would soak them with penetrating oil for a week or so before you plan to remove them.
