For the catch can routing, the proper way is to plumb as follows correct?

Valve cover —> side port of catch can —> top port of catch can to intake manifold

That’s the way I’ve seen it most but read a couple other threads that the other direction is (arguably) better.

Referring to your previous post, I assume you mean the catchcans.com one. You want the oil coming into the filter first, then out of the reservoir. I believe this is inlet at the top then outlet from the side.

I spent good money and bought a MightyMouse Extreme...but I am also doing a performance build. That being said my cc had about 6oz of oil in it after 3300 miles. Granted I have the DI 5.3, but plenty of those in the car community with typical LS builds (Gen III & Gen IV) all put cans on their cars.

I have a 2007 5.3L with 245k on it. I also have the $25 Amazon can that others referred to. Summer time I get about 3oz of relatively cleanish oil in it that I drain when I do oil changes around 4-5k. Wintertime I get over 6oz of oil with water(chocolate milky) so I empty it once at 2-3k and again at 4-5k when I change my oil. Feels good to know I'm not sending that stuff through the intake and combustion chamber. Don't just use heater or vent hose to make your connections, be sure to use fuel rated hose for the connection.
