I put it in that spot where the changer was but it sticks out a bit and I"m going to have to trim the bezel but I'm still waiting on the antenna splitter to go into the radio antenna

You reception is going to suck so bad, you will wonder if anyone actually uses CB.

Not a CB, but I installed my Yaesu FT1900 along side the console molding on the drivers side. The face is looking up at you, and I simply ran all the wires under the console molding, ran a hard-line to the wiring under the hood, and the antenna up the side pillar molding and out thru the rear passenger door (I don't have it perm installed on roof, will not fit in garage)

Only thing I have to be concerned of, is spilling my drink, and a short person moving the seat up too far, neither of which are serious concerns as I'm the primary driver. I can snap a photo if you'd like.

Good Idea. The younger generation does not understand the fun we had on ch 19
No they don't.
I have over a million miles over the road, and having a CB is sometimes a necessity. I still go on drives with another truck club, and I just put my mag based antenna on top and plug my CB into the power port. I have an SWR meter, and I tuned the setup. It gets out just as good as any permanently mounted unit

I didn't want to rip anything out of the dash, just because I'm pretty **** about that sort of thing. This doesn't interfere with driving at all, and I don't worry that the audio is lost under a seat, in the console etc.

I like that and was thinking the other side. I really don't want to rip up my dash either. I need to find a bracket for the install. Mine did not come with one
