On my 2001 Denali I ended up using mounting tape to affix a holder over the (now useless) OnStar controls.

On my 2015 2500 I use a Macally DMOUNT.

On both I position the AC vents so they can cool the phone on a hot day. Texas...

I just stuck it in the outlet in the cargo area in the Acadia to get a measurement. With only 3 inches of flex, probably not much use for anyone unless they have an outlet right on the vertical console like on the package. Any lower and would probably need a little more articulation than the neck and swivel mount could accommodate. I already have the adhesive one and doubt the little rubber wedges built onto the plug portion will last with the weight and bumps over time. Since it was only $5, if I can’t find a viable use for it, I can always yank the rod off and have a dual outlet usb for charging backseat passengers’ gear.

Here's the solution on my 2001 Denali. The holder is glued with mounting tape to the dashboard trim. Behind it is the factory OnStar system. It's analog based, and I've uninstalled the antenna for it, so it cannot possibly work. This is about the cleanest install I've seen.

Macally DMOUNT on my 2013 GMC Yukon XL 2500. I have four cupholders in the center console. So, I had to use a low profile USB power adaptor and a right angle adaptor to get the cables to not hit water bottles in the console. There is a suction cup on the dashboard, and an arm with a rubber foot that sits on the tiny ledge in front of the AC vents.
