Center console addition

I've been a member on this site for a while but haven't posted much. I'm more of a reader than a poster. Anyway, my question is quite simple however I can't find an answer very easliy.

On new chevrolet LT's, can the center fold down center console be replaced by a LTZ center console.

I'm looking at selling my 99' tahoe and buying a Z71 truck but HATE the fold down center console "seat" look.

yes, you can do a swap, but im thinking you have to buy two seats and the console... i may be wrong, maybe just have to buy the one seat that the "fold down console" is attached and the new center console...

but to answer yes it can be done

im pretty sure ive seen it done before. i dont think you have to buy the 2 seats tho.

If it is the front center "seat" console which you want to swap out for a regular top open center console, then yes, it is possible. I did it myself. The seats become "bucket" seats and I bought the center console on Ebay (about $350). There are always some on there, either is cashmere or ebony colors. I made the mistake of also buying the radio/AC control to fit the back of the console, but since my Tahoe only has the standard manual AC controls up front, it won't connect right. Just found the part number for a back tray that fits there instead (Part #15134828). A little pricey for a tray, but cheapest on GM PartsDirect.com. Hope this helps.

Thanks man. I'm trying to buy a new truck and that center "jump" seat is killing me. If I can find one with without a console and replace it, then Im in like flint!!!
