Center consoles. Which is which?

I have a 02 Tahoe LS and it doesn't have the console that goes up to the dash. I'm looking for one that goes up to the dash, which models do they come out of? Is there a difference between pre-02 and 03+? I picked up a 03 dash bezel to fit my double din and would like to relocate the heater to the lower console. Thanks for the help

I think the functionality of the 2003+ consoles are better. They look better too.

pre-02 are different, smaller. Goes up, but had storage for CDs ( some only have the center section, not the part that goes up) This would be the part your missing, im assuming.

03 up are bigger wider and go up to the dash/ radio area. Has normal storage cubbys.

Thank you! Does the 03+ bolt into the pre-02? Were there certain models that came with them?

You have to get the dash pieces from a 2003 for it to bolt up. I believe it is the piece that would go behind the console and the glovebox assembly.

I recently switched my jump seat to the 2003+ console and love it. I didn't get the bracket that the console bolts to under the dash, mine is held in place only by the seat brackets and I don't have any issues. Mine didn't come with the glove box, so I used a saw to neatly cut my old plastic dash panel for the glove box. It worked great, but I just purchased one cheap off eBay to put the correct glove box in.

So the glovebox is different also? Or just the bracket that goes behind it?

For the models without the full console, the glove box trim includes the ash tray, cig lighter and aux.

For the models with the console, the glove box trim stops at the console. That is why I cut mine.

The glove box door is the same.

That's exactly what I wanted to see. Thank you. Now if I can find out if the full consoles were model specific or all 03+ had them
