Changed out the buttons on my 03 today. Very pleased with the results *PICS*

Okay, I edited the original post, using the photos I uploaded into TYF's uploader. Should be all good now :)

Much better and do like :)

Thanks...now if I can just find an option to refurb my seat heat buttons. Those drive me nuts, and it's hard to justify spending $175 to replace switches that work perfectly fine, just look terrible.

I see pictures, looks good. I've been watching a set for the nav screen in my 05, just haven't pulled the trigeer.

Do it. Are they really expensive?

I just couldn't stand getting into a vehicle that I just bought...and looking at those horrid peeling buttons. It just made the whole interior look terrible. It was a super simple fix, and I'm so glad I did it.

Naw. The seat heat buttons don't look THAT bad, but they're enough to bug me. I'm going to just keep my eye out for a cheap set.

The stereo HAD to be fixed. Mainly because it's a focal point for the interior. The seat heat switches really aren't even noticed...unless you want to use them.

That radi issue is so common too. I don't know many radios of that time frame that didn't do that:(

how did you swap out the buttons?

Pulled the stereo out of the vehicle.

Pulled the face off the stereo. No screws or bolts, just a bunch of plastic tabs that you lift....then pull it off.

Once the face is off, you remove the circuit board on back with 4 ULTRA tiny bolts.

Remove the knobs on front, and separate the circuit board from the face of the stereo.

At this point you have access to the buttons. Just swap out the ones that come from ebay, and whammo. Re-assemble and you're set.

Really easy. Hour tops.

Looks good. Even the switches on the nnbs radio do that mines starting too peel already.

For reals? You would think that GM would have addressed this issue. For shame.

Oh, and by the way. This is the LAST GM vehicle that I will ever purchase in my lifetime. I mean, the truck runs rock solid, but there are too many quality issues that really make me question GM's commitment to building a quality product. Oh, and I read a thread in depth about the NNBS dash cracking issue, and GM's refusal to repair it. Absolutely unacceptable.

Great work. My main volume/power knob is starting to lose paint and it is annoying. I will definitely look into this. Thanks for sharing.

Hell, that's even easier to replace. You don't even have to pull the stereo out. Just squeeze the top and bottom of the knob, and pull it off. Then the button snaps right out, and you slide the replacement right in.
