i have a 05 hoe with Bose n on star. I already changed out the HU with pioneer 5700. Now I have a buzzing back door speaker. Which is prolly blown. I purchased some pioneer 6.5s for the hoe. My question is, should I bypass the factory Bose amp or just hook up to the original wiring? Meaning, I would get the use of the factory sub and new pioneer door speakers front n back. Been reading some online but still unclear to what people do. My dad does wiring, said something about if the factory system is putting out 2ohms to the door speakers you wanna just make sure the new speakers are 2ohm stable. So I'm confused. Does leaving in the Bose amp add to powering the new speakers? Or just it not help at all? What is the correct way to do it? I have other subs if need be but continuing to use the factory sub would be nice.

Thanks

Bose speakers are 2 ohm so if you replace them with 4 ohm Pioneers running off the Bose amp they will be quiet. You'll need to either find 2 ohm speakers or power them with a separate amp or the new HU's amp.

Well son of a gun. Ok, good to know. Is there a way to bypass that amp going to the door speakers without having to rewire? I'm assuming metra makes a bypass maybe?

I've never heard of a bypass harness. I'm not sure of your factory wiring; there's the "premium" Bose systems and the "luxury" ones. Probably easier to just run new wires. I know mine is the lux system and it has 8 satellite speakers and the sub. I had a blown Bose door speaker and found one at a junkyard. Then I replaced the HU with a Sony DD and that made the Bose speakers sound nice but I needed more bass so I replaced the rear Bose sub with an MTX Thundermax enclosure, JL sub and Soundstream amp and the hybrid system really sounds nice. I'm only mentioning this because you might consider just replacing your Bose speaker and doing something for more bass instead of spending money on door speakers and having to rewire them, only to find out they don't sound any better or even worse! At least in my case, the Bose speakers sound nice but I do have the luxury system which has a pretty nice factory amp and speakers. Do you know which system you have? There's quite a bit of difference between the 2.
