A voltmeter actually. And with emissions nowadays if your sensors were off they require fuel trims and if there is a lot of them and/or no improvements you will get trim or mixture codes. OBD2 does not let O2 sensors off to easy. In fact they a lit CEL is required if is sees something goofy with them assuming other criteria is met. When you get your scanner also look for pending codes again as well as stored or active codes and if possible do a data capture at idle and driving at about 2000rpm and send it my way and I will check out your parameters for you.

I just went through this on my 97 tahoe, no one could tell me how to check them without a CEL on, everyone said that if the light wasn't on they were fine. But I had a smog test coming up and I wasn't getting very good mileage so I changed the two front ones, needless to say my hoe has 200000 miles on it and with the new O2's it passed with flying colours and I get better mileage.
So I say go for it, I did a visual on my old ones before I removed them and they looked old, just spend the extra money on AC Delco O2's

but correct me if I'm wrong, bad o2 should still send a light, correct? You all have me thinking I should change mine to see if I can get any MPG gains back. :)

You should buy an MSD box...they help burn up fuel better ;)

Been debating an msd ignition system will the ignition box really help us or is msd everywhere else good enough?

O2 sensors can get a little tired without setting a code. I should have mentioned that.

I"ve spoken to a few folks and with mild mods, it won't make a difference.

I have no personal data points to compare, just opinions...one was an actual MSD dealer who owned an Auto Store i visited today and asked him the same question.

Finally got my bluetooth scanner this morning. Heres a vid of the readings, once I figure out how to pull the data log out of the phone I send it. Sorry about the radio btw.
