Glad to read that you've received lots of informative responses. I have no issues with my 6 speed transmission.

One request, though, going forward...... Don't just participate in this Forum when you need something. Participate more often and contribute, as well. That is how our collective knowledge base grows.
You bet. I'd be happy to contribute but so far, unfortunately, I haven't found anything yet I needed to do to my 2001 that someone else hasn't already figured out! But I'll keep trying with the new 2013! Beautiful Yukon you've got there!

Perhaps post in the correct forum for 2013s next time as you may get more feedback geared toward your specific vehicle.

Thanks for the feedback. I have only been on the forum for a year and brand new poster. I picked the first link I saw that mentioned drivelines, etc...I'll look for the 13 next time. Or 01 if it's for my older one.

Some 07 & 08 6 speed trans had issues with leaking seals that caused an occasional slip during the 2-3 shift. There was a TSB issued on it but most of the vehicles affected went unchecked and mostly unnoticed.

Coming from the 4 speed of an 06 Denali XL to the 6 speed of an 08 Denali XL I can tell you it’s a night and day difference in the driving experience.

You’ll get a few more MPG with the 6 speed plus the change to rack and pinion steering made the truck feel lighter to me. You’ll be going from a known, really good truck to a really great truck that’s loved even more.

Hi all!
I am looking at replacing my 2001 Chevy Tahoe LT with a 2013 Chevy Tahoe LT. I have loved my Tahoe...it
has been the most reliable vehicle ever but I am ready to get something a bit newer. I found a 2013 with a 5.3 Vortec that I love but I have heard reports of major issues on the 6 speed automatic transmission. What say you Forum? I still believe in Chevrolet and as many are out there on the road I just can't believe that the transmission problem is that bad. I've been a member for a while but today is my FIRST post.

Please sound off for me! I REALLY like this 2013 and would love to make it happen!
I have a 2012 LTZ with the six speed trans I have 103000 on it now and no issues. I had the service at 100,000 miles and looking forward to the next 50 . I don't drive hard or usually tow with it though so I hope this helps. CHEVY on brother.

Wanted to ditto the 6 sp tranny, I replaced my 2000 Tahoe with a 2013 and love the 6 sp. I also agree with

intheburbs that you need to address the AFM and get that truned off , there are several tunes you can get to do this. I used Diablo Sport I3 but anyway enjoy your 2013.IMG_20140208_101908_045.jpg
