It is confusing but I know the Autocal is the only one where you keep the hardware and can change between tunes at any time, and the only one where they can send your tune via email. The others need to be sent to BB to load the tunes then shipped back to you.

Or you can buy a computer from them, swap out, and send your back for a core.

You can try it, but good luck flipping it to the next sucker when you try to recoup that $65-$210 to put towards a real tune (Blackbear, etc.). Skip the hassle and disappointment and go straight for the good stuff and don't look back.

We have 3 different tune options (4 counting our in person tune), but what is available to you will always depend on your vehicle's year, model, and engine size. The AutoCal is the most popular option because of the convenience, it allows us to see your vehicle data, and we can provide the tunes via email.

Those HP claims are bogus. BB is a custom tune unlike a canned tune and they work with you on what you want to do. They also change trans settings like torque management, shift points, etc so the overall change is much better and you end up with a vehicle that’s just way more fun to drive as well as the performance gains. Plus it’s a lifetime tune so if you change anything they will retune. They’re a preferred vendor here, you can find them under the performance sections or at www.blackbearperformance.com.

From what I heard, the Government version of the SSV (I don't know if the feds have PPVs) actually are setup so that they have 10-15% more HP, and at the same time use 10% less fuel. The vehicle needed a federal emissions exception for that though. It is not just some story/rumor, where I live SSVs are used A LOT.

So if I were you I'd first check at where you're at in that department, and if it even makes sense to "chip" it.
