Wondering if anyone has tried taking the leds out of Christmas lights and soldiering them in the window / doorlock switches and hvac control. I was looking at some small battery powered micro led christmas light. Thought they might be small enough and give a dimm glow to the switch the factory does.

Anyone have any thoughts.

You can buy LED replacements in almost any color. Would be easier in my opinion than trying to mod christmas light. Might have to do it myself for the holidays!

Ok I was checking out Superbrights site for the leds and see they have 5mm and 3mm. I have a 2001 and want to try and change over the dash and switches / controls to red leds. Would the 3mm led work better in the switches / controls . Also they offer a few different red leds and I don't know the correct one to order. Any further suggestions.

Its been a while since I got mine so I cant recall the size. Hopefully someone will chime in. Also there is a sticky somewhere about it. Do a search and see what you can come up with
