Ya, it is very tricky to get a "REAL LIFE" picture of how it actually looks. It looks black, it looks black/chrome, it looks chrome??? Has a very cool effect, guess you would either have to have seen black chrome before, or see in person.
As far as longevity.... I've had it on my motorcycle for about a month now, with absolutely no problems. I have my headlight done, gas cap, forward controls and pegs, and so far after riding, and washing, it is holding up very well. I mean, like any paint, if you scratch it with something, ie: metal key, it's gonna scratch ya know!! But after riding my motorcycle hard, bugs and rocks and water everything, it is sticking to the chrome well with no peeling, chipping or anything. I guess time well tell. But being a paint product, and since I didn't have to prep/scratch my chrome up to make the paint stick, it can be removed right back to normal without any worries.
I did not take off my bumpers, I removed my plastic trim on my rear bumper and masked off the truck then painted. And the front I just taped the white plastic peices and masked everything off then painted. Just took my time and prepped very well and taped/masked off everything I didn't want painted.
As far as removal, it can be removed like any paint can with Acetone or paint stripper. And like I said before, if you painted it with normal paint you would have to marr up the chrome surface to get the paint to stick, and then if it did start to peel, you would be left with a scratched up chrome/aluminum looking bumper. But since I just had to paint the surface as is without any modification to the chrome surface, can be brought right back to original if needed.
I guess time well tell how long it will hold up, but my testing on my motorcycle and other parts, it seems to be holding up pretty well. Just letting everyone know my experience, anybody else may be different because like any painting thats done, it's all in the prep work, how you paint, and how let it dry, so...... PREP PREP PREP, LET DRY BETWEEN COATS, GOOD CLEAR/TOP COAT, DRY DRY DRY. my .02cents hope it helps
