We have an 08 Burban. Had the rear bumper replaced with a new one and opted for the newer bumper pad seen on the escalades, denalis, etc with the chrome strip.

I havent seen it yet, but the body shop called and said that it looks like there is a 1/4" gap from where the strip meets the bumper.

Does anyone know if this is accurate? Should I have ordered the entire escalade/denali rear bumper? Its a brand new OEM bumper, pretty sure the escalade/tahoe/yukons, etc all used the same rear bumper, just a newer pad.

Thanks in advance.

ok... for those of us who are going to do this. You HAVE to order the Escalade rear bumper AND the rear bumper pad. Apparently they are completely different part #s for the bumper and for the pad.

When i went on gmpartsdirect.com, the part number shows the same for the 08' Burban and 11' Escalade, but when you actually look it up on chevy's website, they are completely different part numbers, hence why the escalade bumper pad would not work on the burban's bumper.

So, ordered the escalade bumper today. :)

Also, the 07-09 bumpers for the tahoe have a one piece step pad. The denali/esky/2010 tahoe bumpers have a two piece step pad consisting of the actual step pad but also a separate chrome strip that uses tabs to lock into place.

Got the truck back today. I never noticed the differences between the Esky bumper and Burban bumper, but it is actually completely different. really nice looking piece.

I'll take pics tomorrow in the daylight and post them up in the members rides section... :)

I'm in the process of replacing my rear bumper aswell on my 07 tahoe . I was wondering if you could supply me with part numbers to do the conversion . One more thing , I kno the esky and denali come with back up sensors on the bumper , I don't have them and not planning put them on either . Do the sensors come with the bumper or is it a different part number ? Is it's a different part number can someone supply them to me so i could put them in as well. Thanks

They have two different bumpers made. One with sensors and one with not. So my educated guess is they have different part numbers. I don't have them though sorry! I'm doing this too eventually and going the cheap eBay route
