It is. Thats part of the reason for XM lol. Or get HD Radio and have much clearer FM.
it all depends on the channels. Some satellite channels sound better than others. I have stock XM on three of my GM cars and trucks. The sound varies from time to time. FM does have more depth, but has normal static, stereo drop out. Obviously XM has no static.
That's how our 13 suburban is. You have to turn the volume up way higher to hear anything...

The head unit I put in my Suburban has a feature where you can set the volume level for different sources, and I have XM turned up higher than the other ones. But no matter what changes I make to it, satellite radio just sounds flat to me. I deal with it because radio stations in the DFW area are horrible.
Really? what kind of stations? I have about 8 that I alternate between. Fairly happy with them now that I have HD radio again
Agreed. Low volume, sounds muffled, no highs in the tweets.

I listen to mostly classic rock and metal, with some blues and country sometimes. I absolutely hate the edge and the eagle, because their definition of "rock" and mine aren't the same. They might play one song every few hours I enjoy. KZPS is tolerable, but I draw the line at Elton John. I have HD radio also but to me it's not much different than regular radio besides it sounding better.
I've had satellite radio of some sort for about 12 years now, and I guess it's spoiled me. I give regular radio a chance every so often, but all of them talk all morning (which I can't stand) and have TONS of commercials. Plus the same crappy songs over and over. There is so much other (better!) stuff that could get played but just doesn't, and I don't get it.
Radio used to be good when I was growing up. My favorite station was 99.1 Z-rock. It was based out of Dallas, but nationally syndicated. Now it seems that all stations are owned by one company, have the same format, and pump out the same mind-numbing crap all the time.
Or hell, maybe I'm just getting old, I don't know
