Clear Corners Not Clear...

I have had my clear corners for quite some time now. For some reason they are not as clear as my headlight housings. They have a dirty look to them rather than being crystal clear. I'm not sure if there is dirt in the housing or if I need to polish up the outside of the housings.



Not sure if you guys can really tell in the picture but any help would be awesome!

not sure from the looks of things but i can tell you to try tooth paste and a towel scrub tooth paste on the lenses be sure not to get it on your paint takes some elbow grease but you should see a change, or if you have the money buy Plastics from maguires , it works well . i think we could help more if you had a close up of said filmy corners

I have noticed that mine build up a film on the inside. What I do is take them off, tear up a soft rag, then fill them with car wash soap and water and shake them up so that the rag can brush up against the hard to reach areas. You can also try and jam your fingers around with the rag. Once all the film is clean then rinse really well and take another soft and dry piece of towel and get rid of any water spots on the inside of the lense. Then i let them air dry overnight just so there is no fogging.
I have done this to mine 3 times and they always come out looking crystal clear.

If the outside of the lens is fogged, a local body shop wet sands the lenses (no idea what grit) then sprays them with clear coat. The plastic stays clear and protected from weather. He does it with taillights too (no clear coat on headlights). He said the wet sanding and clear coat is the professional version of the crappy restore compounds stores sell.

I have heard of doing this, but I have never done it myself though. However you do it, just let a brother know. I'm looking at getting some clear corner myself!

I used the 3M Sanding and buffing kit on mine. They look great now but after all the work and buying the 3M kit I would of just bought new ones off eBay instead.

Thats exactly how mine look right now, ive buffed and sanded and cleaned all kinds of headlights to like new again but none of that has worked on these. Im going to have to see if I can get to the inside and try cleaning or Im just going to have to pick up a new set. The dingy yellowish color really stands out for me

Yeah man its driving me nuts. I like my truck to be uniform all the way around so to speak. I'll be home from college on Monday so I'm gonna spend the night and the rest of the week trying to get them clear.

Thinking about it now, I think dirt could be getting in the housing. The rubber grommets on the light sockets were old and rotted when I replaced my clear corner. One or two of them didn't really tighten down when re-installing them either. You guys think I can get some new rubber grommets for the sockets at the local auto-parts?
