Greeting Fellow Tahoe Owners!

I just bought an '03 Tahoe LS 2WD and there is a constant clicking noise (sounds like a relay clicking) behind the left side dash panel. It was not making this noise until after I took in in for a service at my fave independent shop. It almost sounds like a blinker relay or something.

work done was:
oil/filter change
trans service
air cleaner
plugs & plug wires
new serpentine belt
right front marker light bulb replaced
left rear tail light bulb replaced

Not sure whats going on, but its driving me nuts and I hate to have to tear into the dash.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Your actuator needs to be either cleaned / replaced. Common in the Tahoe's.

dhulsey779,
Thanks for the quick reply! Pardon my ignorance, but actuator for what? Any threads, pics or advice on where and how to clean it?

Thanks!

Clicking Sound from Dash

My '03 Yukon did the same thing. Eventually, I figured out that it had to do with a certain selected air delivery location, hence the "mode" actuator was involved. I verified that conclusion by placing one hand on the actuator (above the gas pedal on the side of the A/C unit) while the noise was being made; the actuator was moving slightly to the cadence of the ticking sound. I had the local Chevy dealer replace the mode actuator for about $150 since I can't work up under a dash panel any more. The replacement solved the problem!

My 01 does this as well but only ever once in awhile, just a few clicks like the turn signal sound and its gone. How many actuators are in a 01 tahoe and how do I know which is bad?
