I have an 07 Yukon SLT. While taking turns or going over bumps, pretty much anything that makes the car rock to one side I hear a tapping noise. I thought it was the suspension at first but I believe I narrowed it down to inside the vehicle. It's happening on the passenger side around the c pillar area between the the 3rd row window and rear passenger door. Also in that exact area is the vent system that goes up to the ceiling. Anyway I stripped all interior panels off in that area and had someone drive the car while I stayed in the back and couldn't find where the noise is coming from. I even rocked the truck back and fourth in park and couldn't produce the noise again. If the sound didn't seem to be so high up I would insist it's suspension related however that is still a possibility. Hopefully somebody can help to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Yes there is a rear ac. Also the vent system on the passenger side in the cargo area that goes up to the ceiling vents. Where the large vent goes up the side is where the noise sounds like its coming from but ive messed with it all and cant produce the noise.

it could be the seat belt buckle. I know if mine doesn't get stored properly it will tap on the side panel.

Well like I had said earlier I took all the panels off and while riding in the back I held on to anything moving. The seatbelt was one of those.

Help me get a better idea. What's closest to the point where you hear the noise?
Is there any kind of rhythm to it like it can be caused by constant movement?
It's definitely in that area? It couldn't be a headrest or anything right?

Could it be the curtain airbag is loose somehow?

It seems to be coming from the airbag area like you just said but it sounds isolated like I cant find the exact spot its happening. Ive also tried pushing on the airbag to make it touch the ceiling but nothing. Could it be something in the vent under the third row window and thats why im hearing it up so high? The vent starts with the ac lines coming threw the floor board by the tailgate goes under the window then up to the ceiling between the third and second window on the rear pass door.
