Driving home the other day, my cluster lights went out. Immediately I reached for the (dimming) knob and it was super hot to the touch. I looked at my AC knobs and those lights were out too.

When it cooled off I rolled the knob and my interior lights did come on but everything else on the dash was still out. All my other lights worked including the exterior ones.

Is there a fuse for that whole console and cluster assembly?

Any thoughts? (btw, if it helps, I have the Escalade cluster and aftermarket lights)

TIA!

this happend on my 2002 escalade, there are two possible problems. 1 the dimmer switch has burnt traces. 2 a short in your daylight sensors. how i fixed mine,i hardwired from the ilum fuse to the illumination wire on the cluster. if your serious about doing this fix. ill tell u which wire it is

On my tahoe, when I turn the dimmer to a certain point, all my interior lights go out but mine doesn't get hot. Could be a short in the dimmer.

One of those two sounds like it. Where are the fuses for those lights?

Yes, any extra info would be great.

Will check for shorts.

Did you ever fix the issue?

I was changing out the lights in my 4x4 buttons to LEDs and they worked except the bottom one so i went back in and turned it around so it would run properly in series. When i resoldered i shorted the solder points and didnt know it. I plugged it in and instantly no gauge/cluster/hvac/dimmer switch lights come on at all. I checked the Parking Lamp 30amp fuse under hood and its good. I checked all fuses and they are good. I fixed the 4x4 switch problem and still nothing because somewhere i blew a fuse. I can't figure it out so i am turning to everyone here.
