I would take it to a Chevy Garage.

It takes a special tool which holds the blend door actuator while you put the bolts into it. The actuator is way back in the heater box and is a bear to replace.

The tool costs upward of $100 and is more or less a one time use tool, because how many heaters are you going to fix?

I have done it before and it took me about 4 hours to replace one in the GM garage. A guy that does it every day can probably do it in less then a hour.

So the price of the tool is about the same as the cost for labor to replace it.

It is a single temp system. The air from the driverside vent is the same temp as the passenger side vent. the air seems to come from under the dash. not out of the vent. do you think it is still the actuator?

I have the same issue with my 2000 Suburban. I never really looked into it because you can only feel it when the vehicle is in motion. The air is coming through from above the kick panel area. I ended up just jamming some rags under the dash so my girl's legs don't get cold anymore.

Heat Problems

Let me know if you find a solution. I am having the same problem with my 2001 yukon. Single control heat in the front and the passenger side barely blows any air under the dash and your feet freeze.

Mine too....lol

'04 Yukon with dual climate blows cold in passenger side while in motion. Doesn't matter at all what temps are set at, still blows cold under the dash somewhere. It friggin' sucks when it's -30C outside!

Yep, same here. Especially noticable during longer trips. If my wife is driving, I crank the heat just to stay warm, and she gets pissed because she roasts. One of us suffers the whole time. Poorly engineered seal perhaps? I'd really like to find a solution, even if it means shoving something up in there to block it off.
