I was wondering if you guys have come across some common causes for grounding whine sounds?

When I plug something into the auxillary port on my radio I get a horrible whining noise when the volume is up at all?

I also get a dimming of my lights when I use the window up/down controls?

I have a 2008 Yukon SLE with about 40k miles.

Thanks again for any help guys.

Sounds like your supply voltage is droppin' low.
Check the voltage @ the battery when using the window up/down controls, and see what it drops to.
Possibility the voltage regulator might be faultering, and can't supply the necessary current.

Thanks. I have an appointment tomorrow at the dealership for som warranty work. I will ahve them check that as well.

I just had a fuel pump and module that sends fuel level to guage replaced last month. The repair guy said that the pump didn't look so good and replaced it.

Could that low voltage be the culprit here as well?

Thansk for the reply. I appreciate it.

You probably actually had a bad pump sending ass'y if a tech said it was bad.... can't say myself...kinda like being an armchair Quaterback on that one.
If your voltage was low @ that time, or you had the inability to draw proper current, the pump would not be able to turn @ it's full potential, and I would think you would have fuel delivery problems(don't know what your symptoms were prior to replacement).

Normal??? Any time I've heard of his symptom... it's never been considered normal. Especially lights dimming when using other accessories that require a significant amt. of current draw to operate correctly.
