Compass and Temperature Not working

The compass/temp display doe not work in the rear view mirror with auto dim and OnStar in my newly acquired Yukon SLT. Is this a common problem? Or maybe my truck never had this option even though the display is there?

I tried resoldering mine a while back with no luck. I think I have a broke wire somewhere in that harness
