my cousin is a car audio wiring genious and he's helping me with the build.

other then wires...is there any special equipment i need wiring it up this way?

im interested to see how this turns out for you every install i have done with an LOC has been redone with an aftermarket HU becasue of poor sound quality

true, the LOC works, but hampers SQ....if you get a real HU, it will dramatically change the output and sound.

I guess that answers the dilemna, go with an aftermarket!

I was looking at some of them and I would personally prefer a unit that takes up the entire space of where the stocker was...for me personally, I don't like the skinny ones with adapters.

Any recommendations on either a full digital screen HU or a "traditional" one that takes up the entire space?

DD - double din?

I'll have to keep looking around b/c when i searched by my year - 1999 Tahoe - the only items that came up were the one size fits all rectangles.

All the nice full screen stuff said it didn't fit.

I guess it's back to the search engine!

yea i sonic electronics is a good site i like millionbuy.com aswell they have some pretty decent prices not alot of high end stuff though
