Alright fellas, I'm a compete n00b to Yukons, and I want to get started on getting mine road worthy again. Aside from the motor issue (which I'm confident i can tackle on my own, the suspension is something completely new to me. Aside from the obvious bad shocks, the steering is pretty sloppy, and she wanders around a bit. Also, it sounds like a pocket full of change clanking when I hit bumps.

Are there any common issues i should check into first? I'm thinking of checking the (pardon me if I get the terminology wrong, I'm used to import cars with rack and pinion) Pittman arm and idler arm. Does the 4wd Denali have a rag joint like the S10?

It's required that you post pictures and details of your ride.

Check the sway bar links. They make that noise when you hit bumps if the bushings are worn out or missing.

It also makes the truck really bad at taking corners. Tons of body roll.

I just fixed alot of the steering problems on mine. This is what i did to fix mine. I replaced the tie rods (inner and outer) the tie rod sleeves, idler and pitman arm, i also put a steering stablizer on my truck. The steering box will be changed out soon also. and a new alignment

Will do. It definitely rolls a lot.

What is the tie rod sleeve?

Yeah, go over the entire front end from control arm bushings, shocks, ball joints, tie rods. Check them all.
