Hey y’all - Intake manifold leak on my 99 Yukon 5.7L. Doing fuel injector spider replacement while I’m at it. I’ve looked at everything I can find on the forum concerning replacement parts and it would appear the general consensus is to upgrade to MPFI - just want to confirm the Delphi FJ10566 will fit my truck, because Amazon says it won’t? (I have noted the points of caution re: heater hose disconnect, etc.) Just want to make sure this isn't any more involved than if I were replacing with the OE unit.

Folks seem to prefer the Fel-Pro gaskets over the AC Delco...so I'm supposing I'll go with those.

Here’s my shopping list, just hoping to get a “yep you’ve got it” before I boldly click purchase. Thanks!

Fuel injector spider: Delphi FJ10566
Intake bolt set: Fel-Pro ES72224
Manifold gasket kit: Fel-Pro MS98000T

numbers are correct but the gasket kit only include one valve cover. grab another single one
Fel-Pro VS50293R Valve Cover Set

it is easier the wrangle the manifold with both valve covers removed and if all goes well you will not need to open this stuff up again for many years.

Right on - was wondering why some earlier threads had mentioned the valve cover gaskets, you just made it exceptionally clear. Thank you!

Any perspective you can offer as to the advantages of the Delphi injector unit over the AC Delco unit Rock Auto shows for my make/model and at about $60 less (http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=984604&cc=1355510&jsn=426)?

I'm not sure how critical this is, but I've read its a good idea to run a tap down the intake bolt holes just to clean things up so you get the proper torque specs on the new bolts.

tap clean only all the bolt holes as new bolt sets from felpro are pre-coated and need clean holes to seal very good. Delphi or delco will do both are sourced from the same design. delco is pretty much a remarked delphi in regards to a few different parts used here.

Not a good idea to use a tap unless you have experience and know what you're doing. A shadetree guy can use a rat tail wire brush with a shopvac right there to suck up the crud while brushing/cleaning out the threads. Then, best to wipe clean with lacquer thinner to promote sealing with new fasteners.

you are not actually tapping the threads in this case. just using the tap thread teething to clean out the groves. just don't use the wrong size.
