The 2004-2007 L59 engine (VIN code 8th digit "Z") is a flexible fuel 5.3L V8 that made 295 hp (220 kW) and 335 lb·ft (454 N·m)

I was playing with the idea of making some changes to my GMC 2006 Yukon... Nothing crazy just better flow...

Cold Air Intake.
Cams.
5 angle Valve Job.
Headers.
And a Dyno Tune.

I was thinking of getting a set of heads and send them to the machine shop.

Ideas or suggestions???

cold air is good.
1 cam is plenty.
a quality 3 angle is most you will need.
longtubes or bust
dyno tune would be best.

as far as heads, it depends on the cam you choose.

SO what are your goals for this project? I just did a CAI, Muffler, 05+ efans and a BB tune and honestly it drives like a total different truck. The last thing performance I plan to do is long tubes and that will be enough for me. But I am just trying to make everything more efficient and more fuel economy with the benefit of added power.

Yeah me too... I am not after top speed horse power. I would not mind some horse power... What I want is torque. :D

I did this modifications to my sport motorcycle, + Velocity Stack and Bored out Throttle bodies and a Fuel injection management system, and I saw a 12% increase in power...

If you're going to pull the heads, I'd try and find a set of ported heads and have them cleaned up instead of just doing a valve job.

Other than that, those chagnes will make for a whole new truck.

dont waste money one cold air intakes you will get no power
cam and whole new valve train but if you go with a loping cam ive been told its wise to get a higher stall speed torque inverter
long tube headers dont waster money on shorts dont change from the factory intake untill youve had it tuned also better injectors bcause CAIs really lean the mixture out
