I'd be interested to know whether you have to buy more than just the cap (GM is infamous for making you buy more than just the part you're looking for, usually as part of a larger part that contains the part you're looking for). I'd have to check out my truck to see exactly how those caps are attached. Since they're hinged, I just wonder if there's more to it...

The cap part is all one piece that snaps into the control panel. I have a new one at home and will take a pic of it to show you what I mean.

I had to replace one of these when I first bought my truck. The cap comes with the ring it is attached to. The whole part is less than $5. Install is easy. There are 2 tabs in the cigarette lighter that you depress to pull the whole port out. Unplug it, and detach the ring. It should take you less than 2 minutes to do the whole process.

Also, there is a gap under the radio where the cover could have fallen into. You might have to pull that apart to find it. It's just like you are trying to get to the subwoofer.

One of my power port covers under the radio is missing also, to keep it from being a eyesore I put in a flush mount USB charger with 2 ports and it just stays in there all the time. Its black, sits flush, and used frequently to charge my Blackberry and the wife's iPhone. Just throwing that out there, you can buy those USB chargers dang near anywhere.

Thats pretty much it, except I chose one with 2 usb ports and no indication light since the port stays hot all the time, I didnt want a constant light on.

ahh ok. I have one of those already but looking to get one that is similar to oem or something to mount in dash and lose the cig lighter on one side!
