you can use the plastic stick on chrome thing and your top (painted) cover, yes

Thanks for the info. I am not averse to getting them painted, or even simpler, buying the full chrome cover for them. as you can see by my pictures, I'm still OK with chrome. I'm old school lol.The Dorman do not come apart really. Or should I say not as easy as the OEM. You can replace the bottom plastic piece you referring to pretty easy. I had a set of the Dorman and didn't like them. They were flimsy to me. I sold them and got a OEM set of Craigslist.

My very first post explained you had to get a used switch or a new switch that would need programmed...
